REALTOR Foundation: RI

Deadline Approaching for REALTOR® Foundation: Rhode Island Grants

Each quarter, REALTOR® Foundation: Rhode Island provides grants of up to $5000 to non-profit entities who share its mission to support the enhancement of quality of life in Rhode Island’s communities and to assist individuals or entities affected by a personal or natural disaster. Organization or individuals who could benefit from REALTOR® Foundation: RI funds, can find more information about grant eligibility and requirements on realtorfoundationri.org. The deadline for the next application cycle is August 15, 2019 at 5 pm.

Now in its 20th year, the REALTOR® Foundation: Rhode Island has disbursed nearly $100,000 — $45,540 through its Troop Support Task Force and another $46,600 through its general fund. Past grants have been used to repair homes for low-income and disabled homeowners; support emergency financial assistance programs; provide social services, emergency food and outreach to at-risk residents and children; and provide memberships and monthly fees for those who cannot afford services.

South Kingstown CARES and Rhode Island Social Skills Academy (RISSA) were the most recent grant recipients from the foundation. South Kingstown CARES received a $1500 second quarter grant and RISSA received $2500.

South Kingstown CARES recruits, trains and places volunteers to provide academic support to students and teachers in the South Kingstown school district. The REALTOR® Foundation: Rhode Island grant will fund two to three mentee/mentor events during next year’s academic school year, providing opportunities that may otherwise be unaffordable for mentees.

RISSA provides social and educational programs for adults with disabilities who are transitioning to adult life. The programs develop social confidence and skills for successful community living and employment readiness. Formed in June of 2018, RISSA will use the funds to enhance its program.
