REALTOR® Foundation:RI Announces Latest Grant Recipients

Warwick, RI — March 29, 2023 – The Realtor Foundation: Rhode Island, the charitable arm of the Rhode Island Association of Realtors, awarded $5000 in grants to four local nonprofits as a part of the Foundation’s first-quarter grant cycle. The four recipients join 39 other non-profit recipients which have received Foundation:Rhode Island funds to help further their mission of helping the citizens in Rhode Island’s communities.

The Q1 2023 grant recipients include the Groden Network, which supports individuals with autism, behavioral challenges and other developmental disabilities; Southern Rhode Island Volunteers, which provides services to help the elderly and disabled adults maintain their independence; and Rhode Island Sponsoring Education, whose mission is to provide scholarships and mentoring to children of currently and formerly incarcerated parents in order to break the cycle of intergenerational poverty, violence, and addiction. A fourth grant went to the West End Community Center which serves the diverse community of the west end of Providence to help them overcome obstacles to economic success.

The Realtor Foundation: Rhode Island grants will be used to support the Groden Center’s Special Olympics program and help Southern Rhode Island Volunteers support the transportation of seniors to healthcare appointments. Rhode Island Sponsoring Education will use the funds to provide mentoring and leadership development services to 125 children, and the West End Community Center will use the grant to expand their food pantry services to include a mobile food pantry. The purchase of a cargo van enables the Center to visit the Rhode Island Community Food Bank and Farm Fresh Rhode Island to pick up an unlimited supply of fresh foods and produce to be distributed in the community.

The Realtor Foundation: Rhode Island disburses quarterly grants each year to local nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations who share its mission. The deadline for the next application cycle is May 15, 2023.
