REALTOR® Foundation: RI Awards First Quarter Grant, Announces 401Gives Prize Sponsorship

Warwick, RI – March 24, 2022 – Rhode Islanders Sponsoring Education (RISE), a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing scholarships and mentoring to children of currently and formerly incarcerated parents, has been awarded $5000 to support their mission from the Realtor Foundation: Rhode Island.

“We commit to empower these most vulnerable members of our community and undo the legacy that too often entraps them. We believe education is the protective factor that opens doors for a self-determined life,” said Kaitlin Della Grotta, executive director for RISE.

"We are grateful for the support of the Realtor Foundation to continue this important work," Della Grotta added.

Each quarter the Realtor Foundation; Rhode Island provides grants of up to $5000 to non-profit organizations like RISE, that work to enhance the quality of life within Rhode Island’s communities.

This April, the foundation also plans to help more 501c3 organizations across the state by sponsoring a prize for one of 525 non-profit entities participating in this year’s statewide giving day known as 401Gives on April 1st. Powered by the United Way with the support of local sponsors, RISE, and other participating nonprofits, will take part in a 24-hour long, online fundraising campaign designed to bring a collective voice to the nonprofit community and deepen the state's culture of giving. By sponsoring a prize for participants and helping to spread the word about 401Gives, the Realtor Foundation: Rhode Island hopes to encourage charitable giving in the Ocean State while also alerting the state’s philanthropic community about the foundation’s quarterly grant program.

“We are honored to be a prize sponsor for 401Gives, an exciting day of giving that will generate important funds for the nonprofit organizations that do so much to enrich life here in Rhode Island. It’s our hope that April 1st is also the beginning of new relationships with many of 401Gives participants so that we can continue to help them with their initiatives well into the future,” said Annie Becker, president of the Realtor Foundation: Rhode Island.
